About Entertaiment
The word “entertain” is rooted in the medieval Latin intertenere, meaning to hold inside. It is the idea that a work of art or activity provides pleasure or diversion, amusement, or distraction. The word also suggests something that provides an agreeable occupation of the mind or a pleasant form of recreation: Solving the daily crossword puzzle is an entertainment for many people. The entertainment industry has grown into a vast and varied empire that is constantly redefining itself.
