From the Latin entretenere, “to entertain,” entertainment is amusement or distraction—whether a clown at a child’s party, a Broadway show, a stadium rock concert, or your friends fighting over the last potato chip. Historically, it has been a form of hospitality, although nowadays its forms are diverse and increasingly global. Click the collocation buttons to find related words.
